The common Moose, Alces alces, unlike other members of the deer family, is a solitary animal that doesn’t form herds. Not so its rarer but nearest relative, Alces purplius, the Motley Moose. Though sometimes solitary, the Motley Moose herds in ever shifting groups at the local watering hole to exchange news and just pass the time.

    Headed for a high of 54 or so they say. Of course yesterday’s forecast high was 45 and we hit 57 so who knows really.

    Survived my first session of physical therapy Monday (ow) and my first day back at the office yesterday. Today should be a piece of cake!

    It is 33 degrees in Madison on its way up to 40!! Yesterday we hit 43 and I happened to catch it when it hit 41:



    “Warmer than yesterday”? How about warmer than every day this year?

    Tonight, this:

    WINTRY MIX ARRIVES AFTER 3 AM TONIGHT AND CONTINUES THROUGH ABOUT MID MORNING ON THURSDAY… THEN CHANGES OVER TO MAINLY RAIN.

    * SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS… AN INCH OR LESS OF SNOW… BUT WE SHOULD SEE ABOUT .10 TO .20 OF AN INCH OF ICE AND SLEET.

    I hope it does not rain for long because the ground is still pretty frozen and it will not soak in.

    am posting from my laptop – since Geek Squad is currently diagnosing a driver issue on my pc

    though I’ve had to walk the tech through most of it since he wants to do things that have nothing to do with the problem

    all I need is the newest NVIDIA drivers

    had to talk him out of re-installing most of my software – lol

    Eating breakfast & drinking tea. Yay for the sandal weather, since my feet are still swollen.

    I had to turn off Lawrence O’Donnell last night, the report about Korea was not something I wanted to hear right before bed. And the Ukraine. Just too much bad stuff going on in the world.

    Goal for the day: remail upright. You’d think I’d have gotten some good sleep since Sunday. You’d be wrong. So, uprightness is a big enough goal.

    Can’t stay long,have to urge Miss Pink Cheeks to finish her breakfast so we can get dressed and get out.

    Feeling very pleased to have sent 8 of 9 and a half stories to the desktop publisher, and I love the cover she’s designed! Can’t wait until the e-book comes out.  Makes me want to write more.

    Glad to hear it’s warmer in Austin, another. Daughter has been looking for a house to buy in Austin and she says the market there is just insane. Sounds like Arlington, Virginia a couple of years ago.

    Spring is trying to bust out all over, but we’ll have lows below freezing next week so I’m worried about stuff waking up too soon.  Hope I can get my “higher brain function” to actually, you know, function today – I’ve got grant and departmental budgets to run.  (I’m not an accountant, never even had an accounting class which is just as well considering my attitude towards “externals” and “depletion allowances”, so how the heck did I get this job?)  Anyway, have a lovely day.  {{{HUGS}}} bf
