Wednesday Watering Hole: Check In & Hangout for the Herd

Good morning, Moosekind.

PLEASE Do Not Recommend the check-in diary!

Recs on the weather jar comment are still welcome.

The common Moose, Alces alces, unlike other members of the deer family, is a solitary animal that doesn’t form herds. Not so its rarer but nearest relative, Alces purplius, the Motley Moose. Though sometimes solitary, the Motley Moose herds in ever shifting groups at the local watering hole to exchange news and just pass the time.

The morning check-in is an open thread and general social hour.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

Heading for a high of who cares I’m outta here. Stranded two extra days by a big ole ice storm, we are finally headed home. So looking forward to being home.

    Happy Wednesday!

  2. 14 degrees in Madison this morning with an expected high of 21 degrees. Looks like we got another dusting of snow but nothing that needed plowing, apparently (quiet here).

    Safe travels, iriti and trs!!

Busy day here … will try to check back later.

Large presidential failures cannot be hermetically sealed; they permeate a presidency. Putin’s contribution to the miniaturization of Obama comes in the context of Obama’s self-inflicted wound – ObamaCare, which simultaneously shattered belief in his competence and honesty, and may linger as ruinously for Obama as the Iranian hostage crisis did for Carter.

This may be condign punishment for Obama’s foreign-policy carelessness and for his wishful thinking about Putin as a “partner” and about a fiction (“the international community”) being consequential. It certainly is dangerous.

One way or another, “they are banging the drums for war as I bang my computer for peace.

The visit to the Lymphederma place was interesting. Massage, measurements, compression. And they wrapped my feet & calves in lots of gauze & bandages. To the extent that I can’t wear shoes. I came in to work with socks over the wrappings. If they want to send me home, they can. I got a truly lousy night’s sleep & the candidate I really cared about lost.

They sent me home with a compression machine, which I didn’t use last night because I used the one at the office yesterday. All over a little swelling around me ankles.

of them say above freezing so the ice will be turning to slush and maybe even melt off today.  I hope so.  It’s been over a week since I got a good walk in and I feel really grungy for the lack of exercise.  Safe trip to iriti and trs and good healing to everyone who needs it.  Hope I actually have time to check back later. 🙂  {{{HUGS}}} bf

I solved my carpet for the basement redo dilemma yesterday by finding a small older roll…..the off gassing is done, it’s very nice quality, and the price is right because it’s old stock. So I can have two room size area rugs cut and bound and just lay them over a thin pad with no noxious smells.

Makes me happy when appearance, budget and function meet at the right spot!
