Wednesday Watering Hole: Check In & Hangout for the Herd

Good morning meese! Happy Wednesday!

PLEASE Do Not Recommend the check-in diary!

Recs on the weather jar comment are still welcome.

The common Moose, Alces alces, unlike other members of the deer family, is a solitary animal that doesn’t form herds. Not so its rarer but nearest relative, Alces purplius, the Motley Moose. Though sometimes solitary, the Motley Moose herds in ever shifting groups at the local watering hole to exchange news and just pass the time.

A Moose in my neck of the woods right now would look like this:

The morning check-in is an open thread and general social hour. Come back when time allows through the day – the conversation continues.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

And, since it is high school musical season…

Currently 34&deg, going down to 28, before climbing back up to 48. I can just hear this guy saying…

    “This is definitely NOT spring!!!”

On the hand front… I FINALLY got the ok to go back to work Monday. Four months off after the hand surgery is more than enough!!

  2. “Congratulations” on going back to work, trs! While it is good news to be healed enough to be allowed to go back to work, the having to go back to work makes it bittersweet. 🙂

It is 28 degrees here and the forecast calls for WIND … blowing in a high of 54 degrees. Spring returns? We hope so.

Have a great day, all y’alls. I see a couple of diaries I want to read and will do so shortly.

we had snow last night which turned to rain/sleet and didn’t stick. Sigh.

Was uplifted listening to Rev. Barber’s Palm Sunday preaching at Riverside Church in NYC – the Moral Monday folks sent me a link to the video of the entire service

couldn’t post it here – the code wouldn’t work

did manage to put it up at gos.

Have to see the eyedoctor later today and am going to be on Netroots Radio today – hosted by Justice Putnam at 12:30 EDT.

it’s 32 feeling like 22 with small spots of overnight snow here and there. Hope the daffodils and the cherry trees aren’t shivering too much.

Today seems to be a day when I get poked. I have acupuncture and then I go for a cortisone shot in my aching knee.

Hope it’s a good day in Mooseville for all.

high of 49F. today. Glad to hear about the hand, trs, and hope the acupuncture goes well, portlaw!

Waiting for the butler, disguised as my husband, to bring the tea. It looks like a nice clear day, if distinctly chilly.

They’re coming to plant the apple tree today. Yesterday I did get the silver polished and actually got as far as setting up the ironing board, ready to iron in the downstairs bedroom. Discovered there weren’t enough matching table napkins for Easter dinner so will have to buy fancy paper ones.

Didn’t get to work on any writing last night because Dearly wanted me to watch “Bletchley Circle” with him. Went back on the five days off-two days on diet and lost two pounds. Good. It really was getting past a joke.

Hope all the purple people in Mooseland will have a good day! Wish I could have seen the full moon last night, but here in foggy rainy old Northern Virginia we see a full moon once in a blue moon.

We went to a Pink Martini concert last night and my head is still full of music. She was even wearing this very dress!

40 degrees again. This is crazy cold for April in Texas. eating my black bean breakfast (with queso stirred in), drinking tea.

Fitbit is in the return envelope. : (

I’ll miss that silent alarm on my wrist. And the sleep data. O keep looking at the Polar thing that’s supposed to be like it, but it doesn’t say anything about an alarm.

Earworm: Just Say Yes acoustic version. I hated romansic songs in my 20s, don’t know why I’ve become such a fan in my old age.
