As many of you know (or don’t know) I’ve been having a lot of real life drama these last 2 months. They coincided with the launch of the Moose. I remember thinking I could never blog again and at 1 time, bid my farewell. Thinking I’d wouldn’t be back in a long time.

I don’t know how happy Palin is going to be about it. Has a Presidential candidate ever participated to such extent in the public mocking of his VP choice? She was demolished (Tina Fey owns her) . You can tell McCain knows he’s going to lose. Three days from the most important day in McCain’s life (and he’s been married twice). You’d think he’d have something better to do than make a complete ass of himself on network TV.

The entire premise of the bit just does not put McCain in a favorable light.

He did this because he’s desperate for attention.

Desperation doesn’t win elections.

THIS is the reason Zogby has no credibility. It’s not that Drudge took a one day sample and made it out to be something it wasn’t. It was the pollster himself, who should know better, that intentionally misled in order to get some wingnut love.

Nate Silver (poblano) from 538 had this to say about his (Z’s) latest Drudge outlier.

Matt Drudge is touting the results of a one-day sample in a Zogby poll, which apparently showed John McCain ahead by 1 point.

Drudge is cherry picking?

WITH A ZOGBY POLL?!?!?!?

Secondly, the Zogby polls have been particularly volatile, because he uses nonsensical party ID weightings, which mean that his weighting process involves making numbers doing naughty things that they usually don’t like to do.

Ouch.

Zogby’s credibility has been going downhill for some time and this last poll (and the reaction to it) could be the final nail in the coffin.

So what does he do?

UTICA, New York — After a strong day of polling for Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Friday, Democrat Barack Obama experienced a strong single day of polling on Saturday, retaining a 5.7 point advantage that is right at the edge of the margin of error of the Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby daily tracking poll. The race has remained remarkably stable down the stretch, this three-day rolling average poll shows.

But how?

Pollster John Zogby: “Obama has consolidated his lead over McCain. His single day lead today was back to 52%-42%.

Bwahahahahaha! You can’t make this shit up.

Obama got the numbers he needed to hold “stable”

Instead of eating some crow and feasting on some humble pie he goes there . Seems he has a problem with an amateur blogger and wannabe pollster who has 10 times the sway and respect than The Great Zogby.

Of course, he comes off as a bigger fool.

When I think of the torment, the hate crimes, the wars and the genocide that exist in the world today, it is not hard for me to see what lies at the root of it all. I see the injustice imposed by the majority on those in the minority. I see the injury inflicted on the weak by the powerful. It is painful to think that to some, the idea of a difference in beliefs, a difference in opinion, a difference in ethnicity, is so intolerable that it is worth taking another human life.

More and more often, I find myself wondering…

How many lives could be saved?

How many brothers, daughters, mothers and husbands might still be alive…

… if we could all just learn to live and let live?

McCain campaign caught race baiting. Pushed the “B” hoax.

That’s right.

Greg Sargent over at TPM has the scoop:

John McCain’s Pennsylvania communications director told reporters in the state an incendiary version of the hoax story about the attack on a McCain volunteer well before the facts of the case were known or established — and even told reporters outright that the “B” carved into the victim’s cheek stood for “Barack,” according to multiple sources familiar with the discussions.

Pathetic.

The McCain spokesperson’s claims — which came in the midst of extraordinary and heated conversations late yesterday between the McCain campaign, local TV stations, and the Obama camp, as the early version of the story rocketed around the political world — is significant because it reveals a McCain official pushing a version of the story that was far more explosive than the available or confirmed facts permitted at the time.

Obama’s typical white grandmother is NOT sick – LUNATIC FRINGE UPDATE –

UPDATE : Thanks to fogiv for the heads up.

Since I asked a couple of days ago who would “go there” many, many, many Obama haterade guzzlers have gone there .

The updates would of filled up dozens of diaries and then some.

But of course, I was waiting for everybody’s favorite toolbag L.Whitey Johnson a.k.a. Flowbee to state what he thinks is about this obvious political campaign stunt.

He did not dissapoint!

Let’s chuckle at the lunatic fringe a bit.

Talk about bamboozling the public, the Obama campaign has trotted out the ultimate PR propaganda designed to persuade America that Barack Obama is a regular guy who cares about his grandmother. Oh, did I mention she is white and from Kansas? I mean, who doesn’t love their granny? Dorthy and Toto were from Kansas. You just don’t get more American than that. Let’s just remind everyone that Barack is a man grieving for his mama grandma.

Ha! So fucking predictable.

This trip is part of a scripted campaign event. It is a sign that the Obama team are so confident their boy has the election in the bag, that they are stepping up efforts to solidify Barack’s image as a regular, mainstream Joe. Hence the visit to Granny in a time of need. Now Grandma Dunham is an elderly woman and is coming off of a broken hip. From the sound of it she is a feisty old gal and no more in peril of keeling over than any other 86 year old woman.

Nobody told Flowbee that a broken hip at her age and condition dramatically decreases life expectancy. Not only is it physically hard on the patient, but it’s even more so from a mental health prespective.

Women in their 70s and 80s consider a hip fracture akin to a death sentence, according to a new study in the Feb. 5 issue of the British Medical Journal. The study concludes that 80% of women surveyed would rather be dead than in a nursing home as a result of falling and breaking a hip.

But an estimated 329,000 hip fractures occur annually in the United States. Hip fractures often lead to declining health. Women with such fractures face a 15 to 20 percent increased risk of dying the year after the break. Although men are also at risk for fracture, fragile bones are more common in women.

This is a very serious and sad development for Barack’s grandmother . But hey, what do physician’s know?

Hate mongers like Flowbee and his ilk are truly pathetic.

Let’s face it, if Granny Dunham was departing this mortal coil (and let’s face it, she is an old lady and will die at some point) wouldn’t the whole family go? Shouldn’t Barack’s daughters get a chance to say good bye to Great Grandma Dunham.
